Our Funders

WISER would not be possible without the generosity of private individuals, corporate donors, and foundations, as well as the initial investment by Duke University. WISER’s global partners play a vital role in supporting our initiatives: they provide funding, volunteers, educational tools, and more to ensure that the girls at the WISER Secondary School thrive, the community has clean water, and our outreach programs are successful. Spotlight:

Social Initiative has been a major contributor to WISER since its inception. Through partnerships with social entrepreneurs, Social Initiative provides both capital and non-financial support to foundations and non-profit organizations. The financial support from Social Initiative to its partners is essential for developing and scaling the work they provide to a community, while non-financial support— such as strategic advice, strengthening impact measurement, and sharing best practice between entrepreneurs— give partners the tools to identify the impact they have on the communities they serve.

Our Partner Schools

WISER originated from a program at Duke University and maintains strong research and program ties. WISER hosts Duke students for immersive service and research each summer. WISER also works with schools around the world to develop cross-cultural exchanges among youth. Our partner schools also directly support the girls at WISER through fundraising activities. If interested in becoming a partner school, please contact info@wisergirls.org.

The Dwight School has been supporting WISER for over a decade! We were delighted to welcome a team of faculty and students to campus again this past March. Students from both continents had a wonderful time of sharing and learning – and Dwight will be back on WISER’s campus in 2024!
