WISER 100 Club

The WISER 100 Club recognizes the first 100 founding members of the Women’s Institute of Secondary Education and Research in Muhuru Bay, Kenya who believe a girls’ boarding school is much more than a place where boys are absent, but rather the center of cultivating the next generation of community, national and international women leaders.

Membership

The goal of the WISER 100 Club is to collectively raise $100,000 by January 2009 to support the school’s construction costs, teacher training programs and girls’ scholarship funds. In one year, WISER has raised $520,000 to cover most construction costs! Now, our greatest challenge is fundraising for girls’ scholarships and teacher training programs.

To become a member of the WISER 100 Club, an individual, organization, company, or group of people are invited to contribute an initial $1,000 by January 2009. Following this first year, each member will be expected to contribute $100 annually to collectively raise $10,000 with the other WISER 100 Club members.

We hope the WISER 100 Club will establish an empowering network of change agents working together to cultivate greater awareness and support for girls’ education in Muhuru Bay, Kenya and around the world. WISER encourages families, neighborhoods, companies, and individuals to join together to make a difference.
